The paper aims at identifying cheating behaviours in online exams at a School of Social Sciences and Humanities at a university in the Mekong Delta, Vietnam. Using a quantitative approach. 440 samples from 4 Departments of the School were surveyed both online and offline. The findings indicated that plagiarism is the most common dishonest behaviour in online exams. In addition, switch between taps during exams, browser search, peer collaboration, and remote desktop were reported as cheating practices which account for more than 70% of surveyed respondents. These findings can be a useful reference for practitioners, online examiners, and teachers to minimize cheating behaviours for the sake of sustaining transparency, fairness and quality of education at tertiary levels.
