This study attempts to analysis the total factor productivity (TFP) and estimate the factors affecting the TFPof farmers in large fields in the Mekong Delta. TFP is estimated from the production function by normalizing the elasticity of the inputs with cross-sectional data. The study uses the data collected from farmers survey of 240 participating and non-participating large-filedin the Mekong Delta. The research results show that rice production farmers participating in large-fields has a higher TFP than rice production farmers non-participating large-filed. In addition, the research results also show that the factors are positively correlated with the contribution of the total factor productivity include: Number of household workers involved in rice production, training, join a unions, consumption linkages, rice cultivation area and crops. In contrast, the number of years of rice production experience was negatively correlated with the total factor productivity contribution. Hence, the article proposes solutions to help farmers effectively use inputs to increase total factor productivity.
