Emission from fi eld burning of crop residue causes environmental pollution in interaction with public health or traffi c accidentsis emerging as a major socio-economic issue in developing countries. Vietnam is at the fi rst rank of these problems. It is necessary for an Information and Communication Technology (ICT) tool that allows predicting effi ciently these impacts. In this paper, we pro- pose a novel approach for modeling and simulation environmental pollution because of fi eld burning based on cellular automaton tech- nology and massively parallel processing. In addition, our federated simulation approach also enables observing the behavior of rice straw burning and smoke dispersion in their interactions. For error calibration, the physical phenomenon simulations can get real data from wireless sensor networks.
