Improving the quality of the environment in both rural and urban areas is important to improve people's living standards, protect the health, and promote related tourism and service production activities. By estimating a random parametric Logit model, this study investigates the extent of people's participation in a domestic solid waste management program to reduce environmental pollution. Based on the analysis results, recycling activities are quite familiar with nearly 74% of respondents participating in scrap recycling. The average willingness to accept to participate in the program reduces the amount of solid waste about 79,000 VND/month/household and the corresponding fee that the household can pay monthly is nearly 72,000 VND. Based on the research results, the author proposes some solutions to increase the support and participation in the recycling program at source towards recycling of households. Specific solutions include piloting the program, communicating with stakeholders and actively mobilizing people to participate in recycling according to local guidelines.
