Grain discoloration is one of the most important diseases on rice production in Viet Nam, not only affects rice yield and grain quality but also impact on national rice export. Among various fungal pathogens, Alternaria sp. and Aspergillus sp. are important fungi on rice grain. The research on efficacy of leaf extracts from fragrant thoroughwort, billygoat-weed, and lectranthus on inhibiting hyphal growth of Alternaria sp. TV03 and Aspergillus sp. TV28 was conducted at Plant Protection Department, College of Agriculture, Can Tho University. The results showed that leaf exract of billygoat-weed 4%, and lectranthus 4% had high efficacy on inhibiting the growth of Alternaria sp. Meanwhile, development of Aspergillus was only limited at a higher concentration at 8% of leaf extracts of billygoat-weed, and lectranthus.
