The agriculture sector is playing an important role in Vietnam's economy. Currently, countries around the world know Vietnam as a huge source of rice production and export. According to current tendencies and requirements, organic rice production brings economic efficiency and is a production method that is encouraged for long-term application. Therefore, this research aims to analyze and evaluate the economic efficiency of the organic rice model in Soc Trang province Vietnam, thereby finding out the advantages and disadvantages when applying the organic production model. The research employed descriptive statistical methods to analyze the current situation of rice growing, comparative methods, and financial indicators in order to measure economic efficiency, and factors affecting economic efficiency. The authors also employed a standardized profit model with OLS and MLE estimation methods to identify determinants affecting the profits of farming households. Research results indicated that the economic efficiency of the organic rice production model is quite high compared to the conventional model. Research results also show that factors affecting economic efficiency include agricultural chemicals, labor costs, and productivity, and all three factors are positively correlated, positively impacting profits. This results, therefore, reveal the potential to improve farm household profits when farmers can choose inputs and outputs corresponding to reasonable prices in the new model.
