Recently, environmental protection has been receiving great attention from tourists. However, an important question arises regarding whether tourists genuinely prioritize booking rooms at green hotels. To address this, this study was conducted to explore about the hotel booking habits of tourists in one destination, specifically Can Tho, Vietnam. Data from 300 tourists, both domestic and international, was gathered through direct surveys using structured questionnaires. The study employed various analytical methods, including Cronbach's Alpha, convergence tests, and descriptive statistics. The findings revealed that the most popular method for booking rooms is through online travel agencies such as Booking and Agoda, with an average spending of 764,000 VND per room per night. Surprisingly, a significant percentage (70.67%) of tourists had never heard of green hotels. Additionally, only 24.33% of tourists recognized the hotel they were staying in as a green hotel based on their own observations. These findings are consistent with the low proportion of tourists demonstrating environmentally friendly consumption habits. Rather than prioritizing green hotels, tourists tended to prioritize factors such as price, location, amenities, and services when making their booking decisions. In conclusion, the study did not find sufficient evidence to support the argument that tourists prioritize choosing green hotels when booking rooms. This poses a notable challenge for green hotels in their efforts to promote and attract tourists. Keywords: Green hotels, tourists habit, green hotel booking, tourism, Can Tho, Vietnam.
