School of Education (SoE), Can Tho University (CTU) is one of the universities with extensive experience in teacher training in the Mekong Delta. Along with the current trend of development and international integration, CTU has determined that the goal of training teachers is to have sufficient professional qualifications and scientific research capacity to serve the needs of the country's socio-economic development and international integration. To achieve this goal, besides building training program content and adopting more effective teaching methods, the SoE is also very interested in creating and developing a global cooperation network in the training field of teachers. With the school's position and tradition in teacher training, CTU's School of Education has built and cooperated with many partners from universities in teacher training worldwide, such as Michigan State University (America), University of Sydney (Australia), Phranakhon University (Thailand), Quirino State University (Philippines), SEA-Teacher project for universities training teachers in Southeast Asia, and so on. International cooperation activities have significant impacts on teacher training and improving the quality of the teaching staff. This article briefly reviews the international cooperation activities between Daegu National University of Education, Korea and the SoE, CTU, Vietnam, in primary teacher training from 2012 until now. On that basis, we evaluate the effectiveness of these training activities for primary school teachers at CTU and propose some directions for cooperation and student exchange to improve the quality of training for primary school teachers in the current context.
