The purpose of this article is to examine the influencing factors of community participation in the tourism development process, several influenced factors are summed up through field surveys, questionnaires of local residents, and the Exploratory Factor Analysis (EFA) of the investigation datum gained from Phong Dien distict, Can Tho city, Vietnam. The findings reveal that there are six influencing factors of community participation related to economic benefits, fairness and transparency, social capital, community awareness about tourism, the support for tourism development, and local policy. Based on the aforementioned, the author has provided some recommendations and solutions to enhance the residents’ participant degree in development tourism in this region.
