The study aims to investigate the applications of chemicals, antibiotics and probiotics in the production of White-leg shrimp. Forty-five and shrimp farms and five drug shops were randomly collected to interview and getting the record-keepings of shrimp ponds to determine the information regarding to the chemical, antibiotic and probiotic products used, and the technical and cost-benefit characteristics of white-leg shrimp culture. The result presented the technical-economic characteristics of white-leg shrimp culture such as stocking density, culture period, survival rate, harvest size, yield, feed conversion ratio (FCR) and cost-benefit analysis. Based on procedures of chemicals, antibiotics and probiotics application during white-leg shrimp culture investigated, the wise chemical/antibiotic and probiotic applications were recommended to improve the safety food, benefit of shrimp farmers and sustainability of white-leg shrimp farming in Mekong delta.
