Fishing status of Sergestid shrimp (Acetes sp) is studied in 3 coastal provinces of the Mekong Delta from July 2013 until January 2014, these provinces are Bac Lieu, Ca Mau and Soc Trang. The study is carried in bagnet in the coastline, this is a fishing gear to use for catching Sergestid shrimp. The data was collected from survey on 90 households of three provinces. Results found that fishing season was from March until August in yearly; the yield was not clearly different between Western and Southern seas, bagnet rows were designed 1.5-10 km from the coastline, but bagnets are located nearly by the coastline have lower yield than on the further more from the coastline. The yield was less affected by mouth of the bagnet, but the yield has not depended on experiences of fishermen (Fig.1). However, there are huge fluctuations among the provinces and within the province at the same time, the yield depends very much on the weather. Besides, aquatic resource status in recently time, advantages and disadvantages of fishermen are also discussed in the results.
