In this study, single nucleotide polymorphism of GHSR candidate gene was investigated to look for its effects on meat performance traits in Tau Vang male broilers. Therefore, during the experiment time, all 176 broilers were raised in private cages and fed ad libitum. At the end of the 13rd week of age, all broilers were slaughtered to record parameters of their meat performance. Besides, single nucleotide polymorphism at the position A2044G was identified by using PCR-RFLP/Hin6I. As a result, this polymorphism signigicantly associated with some traits such as body weight after removing blood, ratio of body weight after removing blood, ratio of body weight after removing blood and feathers, breast length, carcass weight, breast weight, weight of breast meat and weight of abdominal fat, in which “G“ allele played an important role in controling these traits. Thus, GHSR can be considered as a good candidate gene for improving meat performance traits in Tau Vang chickens.
