Pineapple is an important tropical fruit of Vietnam and was largely cultivated in the Mekong delta region. Cau Duc pineapple (CDP) is a specialty fruit product of Hau Giang province. CDP is a famous brand in the domestic market and is exported to several countries. On the other hand, by-products and processed residues are reused as raw materials for secondary purposes or processing. However, due to land field conditions, CDP farmers still face many difficulties improving soil quality and flood in the rainy season. In addition, the consumed CDP market is still limited. Farmers are disadvantaged in selling their products to the traders who buy them at unfavorable prices. Therefore, we researched to evaluate the effectiveness of the farming model and propose solutions to improve production efficiency. Our results show that the average cost of pineapple cultivation is 3,371,800 VND/year/1,000 m2. The cost of family labor accounts for the highest proportion (31.6%). Total gross return is 10,110,720 VND/year/1000 m2, and net return is 6,739,000 VND/year/1000 m2. The financial indicators of the pineapple farming model are at an adequate level. Factors affecting the profitability of CDP cultivation at the 5% significant test level included three variables such as fuel costs, fertilizer costs, and family labor costs. The variable cost of fertilizer and cost of family labor has a positive effect, and the variable of fuel cost has a negative effect.
