An experiment was conducted as a 4×4 Latin square design using 4 crossbred female goats (♂ Saanen × ♀ Bach Thao) to evaluate the effects of partial substitution of wet brewers’ grains (WBG) for fresh para grass on feed intake, rumen characteristics, nutrient digestibility and growth performance. A basal diet (BD) consisted of 30% concentrate and 70% fresh para grass (DM basis) was used in this study. All goats were received either only a basal diet as the control (WBG0) or fresh grass partially (substitution by WBG at 12.5 (WBG12.5), 25.0 (WBG25.0) and 37.5% (WBG37.5) in the diet. Results showed that feeding WBG25.0 improved feed and nutrient intakes (PWBG; however, digested nutrients were interestingly increased as animals were fed WBG12.5 (P0.05). Feeding WBG had increased daily body weight gain by 1.89-2.79 folds in relation to the control, but no signifcance was detected (P>0.05). In conclusion, replacement of wet brewers’ grains to fresh para grass at 25% in the diet could be a solution to improve intakes and digested nutrients of dairy goats.
