This study on culture of tilapia at different salinities applying biofloc techniques aimed to determine the suitable salinities for growing Tilapia in biofloc systems. A factorial experiment was conducted with completely randomized design comprising five treatments of different salinities (0, 5, 10, 15 and 20 ppt) in biofloc and without biofloc systems. Each treatment was triplicated. Bioflocs was created by adding rice flour as carbon source at C:N ratio of 20:1). Mono-sex GIFT tilapia (initial size of 1.38 g and 4.4cm) were stocked at 40 fish/m3 in 0.5-m3 composite tanks. After 120 days of culture, water quality parameters such as temperature, pH, TAN and nitrite were in the normal ranges for fish culture. Besides, TAN levels in the biofloc treatments were significantly lower than those of the treatment without bioflocs (p0.05). The findings of this study strongly suggested that culture farming of tilapia in brackish water area (10-20ppt) should be applied biolfocs technology.
