The study was conducted to evaluate the effects of combination of Catfish (Pangasius hypophthalmus) by-product protein hydrolysate (BTP) and probiotic (P) in diets on the performance of weaned piglets. A feeding experiment was arranged according to a completely randomized design with 3 treatments and 4 replications (pen) as the experimental unit (3piglets/pen). Total of 36 castrated male weaned piglets (Landrace x Yorkshire) at 26-28 days of age were allocated in the experiment. The control diet contained marine fish meal (BC) as the sole protein supplement diet (BCD), two experimental diets in which crude protein (CP) from in BCD was replaced by the CP from BTP and with (BTPP) or without (BTP0) probiotic supplementation. Results showed that, the highest and lowest average daily gain (ADG) in overall were recorded for piglets fed BTPP (389.3 g/day) and BCD (314.7g/day) diets. Average daily feed intake (ADFI) was non significant difference (P>0.05) among treatments. Feed conversion ratio (FCR) was lowest in BTPP (1.85kg feed/kg gain) and highest in BCD (2.24 kg feed/kg gain) (PE. Coli in feces was lowest in the piglets fed BTPP diet (1.04x106 CFU/g feces), and highest in the BCD (4.01x106 CFU/g feces). In conclusions, it is better to combine catfish by-product protein hydrolysate and Probiotic in diets for weaned piglets, resulting in improving ADG and FCR, and reduced diarrhoea incidence, faecal score, and also E.Coli content in the feces.
