This paper aims at exploring EFL learners’ awareness of the effects of using Google Translate in their learning. This study discusses and focuses on (1) the purposes of using Google Translate in English learning, (2) the reasons they like to use this tool in their learning, and (3) some effects of using Google Translate in learning translation. The participants of this study were 44 students in the major of English Studies. This study is qualitative and quantitative research with data collection from semi-structured interviews. Data from five female students and questionnaires from 44 responses were collected. The findings of this study reveal a variety of purposes, reasons, and effects as the main factors influencing their learning. The implementation of this investigation may help the learners to take responsibility for learning and help the teachers to find some suitable teaching methods to encourage them in developing English competence.
