The term circular agriculture is commonly used by scientists today, but the application of the circular principles in practice is still limited due to low public awareness. This study was carried out in An Giang province of Vietnam to understand farmers' perceptions of circular agriculture and solutions to apply the circular principles to the cattle production through interviewing 60 households. The results show that the livestock production scale is relatively small, with an average of 3.6 cattle per household. Up to 92% of respondents have never heard of the term circular agriculture. Using an evaluation scale from 1 to 5 to assess the level of knowledge about circular agriculture (reduce, reuse, recycle), the results show that 35% of the households did not know anything about circular agriculture (level 1), 62% knew a little bit (level 2), 3% knew it at level 3, and no one answered at a deep and very deep understanding (level 4 and 5). Indeed, about 67% of cattle manure is reused by farmers for their home cultivation, 24% sold and 9% discharged directly into the environment. However, farmers do not have a method of composting. They mainly use manure directly for cultivation. Regarding liquid waste, 100% is discharged directly into the surrounding environment. Therefore, it is important to raise farmers' awareness of circular agriculture. The Provincial Department of Agriculture and Rural Development should develop demonstration models of circular agriculture such as biogas or manure composting methods to reduce chemical fertilizers on one hand and recycle waste on the other.
