The Mekong Delta is a typical river delta in Southeast Asia. The river environment is the basis for forming the unique river culture of this region. River culture is a condition for developing river tourism in the Mekong Delta. The trend of globalization and the 4.0 industrial revolution creates new development opportunities for the Mekong Delta, but also causes significant challenges for the region's development. This study analyzes the current status of river culture conservation in the Mekong Delta and proposes solutions to preserve and promote the value of river culture to serve the sustainable development of river tourism in the Mekong Delta - a typical type of tourism of this region.
