Mathematics is one of important knowledge in many academic programs at high schools and universities. Therefore, mathematics education requires a variety of approaches in order to train learners with essential skills in the new age. In this article, the authors propose to use the model of research-based learning in mathematics education in order to develop the necessary skills for the learners. To verify the feasibility, an experiment was conducted in Can Tho city. Then, the statistical analysis was done to evaluate and refine the model to suit the context of Vietnam.
