Nanoparticles LiMn204 spinel was synthesized by sol-gel method using acid citric as a chelating agent. The effect of different synthesis conditions such as the calcination temperature of gel, the lithium contained precursors and the using of carbon nanotubes (CNTs) were investigated. The resulting materials were evaluated on the structure, morphology and electrochemical properties by various methods such as X-ray diffraction (XRD), Transmission electron microscopy (TEM), Scanning electron microscopy (SEM), cyclic voltammetry (CV) and Galvanostatic cycling with potential limitation (GCPL). LiMn204 synthesized at 300°C exhibited a homogenous small particles and highest specific capacitance of 3.6 F.g-1 after 10 cycles at current rate of 1 A.g-1 • The addition of carbon nanotubes could improve the specific capacitance as well as Coulombic efficiency of electrode materials.
