Fipronil was used widely in controlling insecticides in paddy fileds. Unfortunately, this chemical substance is very toxic to both human and environment. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to isolate and select bacterial strains which could degrade Fipronil in contaminated paddy soil in Tra Vinh province. Twenty six strains which could degrade Fipronil were isolated. Most of bacterial colonies were circular, white color, rod shape, gram negative and motile. Strains R36, R39 and R54 could degrade Fipronil in medium containing 0,04‰, 0,08‰, 0,12‰, 0,16‰ Fipronil.These promising strains R36, R39 and R54 were identified as Acinetobacter beijerinckii, Acinetobacter calcoaceticus and Klebsiella pneumonia, respectively..
