The study analyzed the value added and net value added of stakeholders in the cocoa value chain in Ben Tre province. The study was conducted through the survey of 367 actors involved in the cocoa value chain at Chau Thanh, Mo Cay Bac, Mo Cay Nam and Giong Trom in Ben Tre province and several experts towards in this field. Research objectives were learned about the value added and net value added (profit) as well as the distribution of the value added and the net value added of the actors in the chain. From that, the study would propose solutions to make more reasonable manner in the distribution of the value added and the net value added among the actors in the chain. The method of value chain approach and financial efficiency analysis were used in the study. The research results showed that there were five distribution channels for cocoa products, in which mainly exported the cocoa beans (accounting for 90,17%). There were two domestic marketing channels (accounting for 9,83%) which were the potential marketing channels of chocolate butter, chocolate, and powdered chocolate. There was a positive trend for cocoa farmers in distribution of the value added and the net value added among stakeholders in export channels, whereas domestic channels were in favored of exporting and processing companies and retailers. However, there were several points to improve the distribution situation of the value added and the net value added among actors towards increasing profits for the entire chain.
