Data processing of ground penetrating radar (GPR) takes too much time because of many stages for calculation such as: data format, topographic correction, denoising, amplification and some others. In final analysis step, there crucial parameters: depth, position, and size of the buried objects should be determined. This determination has many difficulties when using traditional GPR methods since it depends on electromagnetic wave velocity which varies very complex in all directions of the material. In this paper, the wavelet transform modulus maxima (WTMM) method combined with the appropriate wavelet functions is introduced to interpret the GPR data, for the detection of size and location of the buried objects without the consideration of electromagnetic wave velocity in the media. This GPR analysis can be applied for the research of shallow geological structure.
