This research is aimed at exploring the relationship and difference between men and women as well as among ethnic groups in Vietnam in behavior, awareness, hygiene, and physical and mental health during the COVID - 19 epidemic situation. This research also identifies factors affecting the perception of Vietnamese people in the implementation of measures to implement hygiene and safety. Primary data was collected by direct interviews with 400 people in two big provinces in the Mekong River Delta in Vietnam. The results reveal that there is a difference in awareness between men and women in the implementation of epidemic prevention and safety measures. However, there is no difference in awareness among ethnic groups. In addition, the multivariable regression model reveals that the determinants affecting people's perceptions and actions in the agency implementing safety and hygiene during the epidemic season include: age, occupation, reception information, acceptance of enforcement measures at the market, the trust of the people in the market management board, and the last but not least, the guidance and operation of the market in future interactions.
