The integration of synchronous online lessons into university curricula has heightened the focus on selecting appropriate teaching strategies. This paper focuses on identifying the vocabulary and grammar teaching strategies employed by English lecturers in Vietnam in both face-to-face and synchronous online environments. Descriptive statistical analysis reveals that while some strategies are commonly used in both settings, certain strategies are preferred in online environments, while others are more effective in traditional face-to-face classrooms. The findings provide valuable insights into the choice of teaching strategies, emphasizing the importance of carefully selecting methods that suit each specific teaching context, ultimately contributing to the enhancement of English language instruction in Vietnam.
