To satisfy the demands from the current massive reform in Vietnamese education, teachers turn to be one of the key factors. Our society with great challenges from the 4th industrial generation requires learners with new or unknown characteristics and differences to be trained in a variety of philosophies, educational models, methods, technology and other measures of assessments. At that time, the education sector and the society push more demands to teachers who are believed to have not only the competencies that have been acquired and trained from the pedagogical schools, but also other qualities and traits to ensure all learners to experience, learn and develop their competencies for the new targets and needs from the society. This article focuses on the findings of six characteristics that guide teachers to pursue feasible competencies and qualities from a scientific research in a Western educational context. These traits through the lens of Vietnamese teachers send the hope of helping teachers partly self-help. orientate the capacities and what needs to be done to meet the innovative requirements of current and future education in Vietnam.
