Agricultural land plays a direct role in producing food for human and livings, absorbing CO2, creating an ecological landscape and reducing the intensity of heat. Ben Cat town has an agricultural land area of 60.93% in comparison with the total natural area of the town. In order to assess the changes of agricultural land area in the past 5 years to serve the agricultural production development plan and socioeconomic targets in the period of 2020–2025, the periodic land inventory is necessary. Based on the map of land use status in 2014, the statistic of land use change related to the conversion of agricultural land, results of field inspection, delineation and conversion of the change in land type and using object… the maps of agricultural land use status was established with the application of MicroStation version 11 software combined with Tk-tool to export the data. The research results show that the agricultural land area of Ben Cat town by the end of 2019 is 14,278.40 ha, accounting for 60.93%, while that area was 14,501.59 ha in 2014, accounting for 61.88%. The agricultural land area decreased in 5 years is 223.19 ha. The combination of spatial and attribute data management software and quantitative statistical software helps to export data quickly and accurately. The results are the basis information for the land inventory in 2019 and serve the government in land managing and planning to improve the using effect of agricultural land resources in the area.
