The manufacturing sector is undergoing a substantial transformation towards smart manufacturing, which promises to augment quality, productivity, cost-effectiveness, and operational flexibility. The real-time adaptability inherent in smart manufacturing represents a crucial element in modern industrial settings. This research is directed explicitly towards smart manufacturing, elucidating the development of an agent-based scheduling model designed to optimize manufacturing processes and a corresponding digital twin platform engineered to bolster its functionality. The efficacy of the digital twin platform has been subjected to rigorous scrutiny, yielding significant contributions to the advancement of smart manufacturing. These innovations portend prospective gains in operational efficiency, cost containment, and heightened competitiveness for manufacturing enterprises within the digital era. Subsequent research endeavours have the potential to refine further and advance the domain of smart manufacturing.
