The climate change has caused problems more seriously in the World including higher ambient temperature, risen sea water levels, super storms, larger flooding, droughts, limited food production, slashed land, human deaths, etc. greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions are the crucial reasons for this. A long the coast areas in the dry season they are the vulnerable regions with the drought and lacking fresh water for human living activities and for agricultural production, particularly for animal water demands. Therefore goat is one of animal species, which is selected to keep in priority with its advantage characteristics of low water consumption, drought stand and browsing behaviors adapting to feeds from plants adapting to the sea water. Beside the burning fossil fuels, enteric fermentation contributes a remarkable amount of GHG production (CH4 and CO2) from ruminants. Methane production in ruminants is more considered compared to carbon dioxide. Goat production in the World has remained well development (8.62 % annually) with the population of 1,003,000,000 thousands (202,700,000 dairy goats) in 2016. While dairy goat production also develops dairy goat meat in which the male goats provide a considerable meat amount for the consumers. In general goat emits around 5.0 kg CH 4/head/year (10% compared to a beef cow). Under climate change with the urbanization areas widen and agricultural lands become narrower, milk and meat goat production has been more important. In this paper the review of dairy goat production in the World, GHG production, negative impacts of climate change, studies on abatement of goat GHG emissions and effective production models will be presented.
