Sustainability in the supply chains of agricultural products is a topic increasingly taking concern. Theoretical or empirical studies dealing with this topic have received a lot of attention lately, due to environmental and social responsibility issues. Sustainable agricultural supply chain (SASC) is one of the most important sectors in the world. The number of SASC studies is increasing. Academics and managers, however, need to focus on the full range of SASC's sustainability aspects. This paper reviews previous research related to the topic, discusses the research results in countries around the world and in developing countries, and states suggestions for further research. The literature review indicates resource-based view theory, stakeholder theory and institutional theory have been used the most commonly in the SASC studies. In Vietnam, there have not been many studies on SASC approached from the Triple Bottom Line perspective. This study addresses a topic that is rarely discussed and provides a brief literature review to for a better understanding and recommedations for future research.
