Blindness is also known as a symptom of loss of visual perception. People who are completely blind cannot perceive light and dark cannot see what is around them. This study focuses on designing a guide helmet for the blind with intelligent, superficial, affordable, friendly characteristics and deploying it to improve the mobility of both the blind and the visually impaired. The proposed method includes a wearable device, including headgear, to help blind people navigate safely alone and avoid any obstacles encountered, whether fixed or movable, to prevent accidents. The main component of this system is an ultrasonic sensor that scans obstacles through reflected waves. The reflected signals received from the barrier objects are used as input to the microcontroller. The microcontroller is then used to determine the direction and distance of objects around the blind. In addition, the system integrates a subscriber identity module card (SIM800A) and an Imou camera to protect the blind and communicate with family members in emergency cases. In addition, the family members can stream video from the camera to know whether the blind person has gotten in danger or not. The experiments were done in Federation of the Blind in Can Tho city, Vietnam, to evaluate the efficiencies of the proposed method and aim to compare several products.
