The revolutionary base plays a particularly significant role in the resistance war against the
US to save the country of the Vietnamese people. The base is not only an important rear base
of the revolutionary forces but also a symbol of the solidarity and patriotism of the
Vietnamese people in the resistance war against foreign invaders. Accordingly, from 1965 to
1968, the Southwest region of Vietnam is a fierce battle field when dealing with the strategy
of “Local War” created by the US imperialists. With an approach to archival historical
resources approach and local history combined with analysis by using in-depth historical
research methods, the research content has made a great contribution to clarifying the
important roles of the revolutionary base in the Southwest region of Vietnam during the
Vietnam War (1965 -1968). The article focuses on the role of revolutionary bases in the
Southwest region of Vietnam in the resistance war against the United States (1965 – 1968).
The article is a significant contribution to military art in the resistance war against foreign
invaders of the Vietnamese people. At the same time, it also sums up some valuable historical
experiences that contribute to building and protecting the fatherland currently.
