Video intubation was a necessary skill for not only anesthesiologists but also doctors in the emergency department and intensive care unit. Good training of using video laryngoscope in clinical practice would help intubation easier and safer. However, it was not easy to set the video laryngoscope available for everyday training, especially in Mekong Delta, due to the expensive price. This research aimed to develop a new intubation laryngoscope which is more suitable for clinical training conditions in Mekong Delta. The idea was using smartphones as display and process components. A borescope camera was used to capture glottis space and attached on the blade at the end of a 3D printed handle. This compact set of a smartphone-laryngoscope has been designed to be appropriated to training conditions in this area. Test of concept product was done under permission of the Board of medical ethics council of Cantho Central General Hospital. 60 patients who needed operation were chosen randomly to be intubated with the smart phone laryngoscope set for anesthesia. This device provided succeed intubation at the first access in 82.67% cases; 17,33% needed the second access, none of them cannot be intubated. It took 14.57 ± 3.99 s on average to finish the intubation technique with the smartphonelaryngoscope set. There was no harm to the patientslarynx was found after the technique. The results showed that the new equipment worked safely, helped intubation easier, and on-time
