In the wake of the global health crisis, the tourism industry has seen a significant shift towards health-centered and restorative experiences, making thermal tourism a relevant field of interest. This research delved into the key factors influencing tourist satisfaction in the 24 thermal stations of Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes, France, particularly in the post-pandemic context. Four critical dimensions were considered: the therapeutic qualities of thermal water, the expertise and personalized treatments provided by healthcare practitioners, the appeal of the natural and socio-cultural environment, and the entertainment amenities including casinos. Adopting a quantitative research methodology, the study collected data from over 290 tourists visiting the thermal sites in question. The findings underscored that these elements significantly contribute to overall tourist satisfaction. The health benefits of thermal water and expert-guided, personalized care emerged as vital factors. The quality of the surrounding environment and local facilities also noticeably added to satisfaction levels. Notably, the existence of a casino, offering diverse entertainment options, enhanced the overall experience. In conclusion, this study illuminated the multifaceted factors affecting tourist satisfaction in thermal tourism, particularly in the post-pandemic landscape. It emphasizes the need for a comprehensive approach to providing wellness, health, and entertainment services. These insights are crucial for thermal establishments and stations looking to refine their services, improve tourist satisfaction, and adapt to the evolving demands of a post-pandemic world.
