From 1884, Vietnam became a colony of the French colonialists. Under the harsh rule of the French colonialists, many uprisings of the Vietnamese people against the French broke out, and the struggle movements in the late 19th century often took place in the form of armed forces. These struggles were quickly suppressed by the French army and failed. By the early twentieth century, the anti-French activities of the Vietnamese people were heavily influenced by China and Japan, and the progressive ideas from these countries had a profound influence on Vietnam. In addition, the emergence of communism also contributed to influencing the thought of patriots in Vietnam in the early twentieth century. Nguyen An Ninh (1899-1943) was a young intellectual in the early twentieth century, he was born and raised in a family with anti-French ideology. He engaged in fierce anti-French activities and influenced the Vietnamese revolutionary movement in the early twentieth century in terms of both theory and methods of struggle. He was captured by the French colonialists and imprisoned in Con Dao, in 1943 he died. The brave struggle life of Nguyen An Ninh is an example for the weak movement in Vietnam. He is considered one of the greatest weak states of Vietnam in the first half of the twentieth century.
