The development of high-tech agriculture, the pressure of the 4.0 industrial revolution and the current competition between countries and regions require industries to innovate and improve accordingly. Amogn them, the agricultural economic sector in Vietnam has developed over time with quite diverse incentives. However, the main stakeholders on this transformation, farmers, has not been studied in depth. This study, therefore, aims to analyse the current status of awareness and demand for applying high-tech agriculture in rice farming activities in the Mekong River Delta region, analyzing factors affecting the behavior of applying these techniques. The study employed a directly-survey data of farm households in the Mekong River Delta. Descriptive statistics methods, Likert scale and Logit regression model were employed to identify influencing factors. The research results have found important points for policymakers to propose solutions in the future such as: the level and ability to receive information about agricultural technology of farmers is currently quite high. Most farm households already know about the measures to adapt to digital transformation and have been implemented. The high-tech agricultural techniques that farmers have learned and applied mainly include infrastructure development measures. In addition, the level of readiness to apply high-tech agriculture, and the demand to apply high-tech agricultural techniques in rice production of farmers is influenced by factors: farmer's education level, farming area, and participate in training courses on rice growing techniques. Based on the research results, the author proposes some recommendations in order to improve the efficiency of applying hightech agriculture in the future, especially in the current period of the 4.0 industrial revolution.
