Innovations in teaching and learning purposes of such innovations are the shift from teacher-centered approaches to student-centered approaches have been of great concern to teachers these days. One of the main which focus on students’ learning process and their active roles in learning. Among innovative teaching and learning models, the 5E model basically meets the aforementioned purposes. On the one hand, this article describes a brief history and the ideal of the 5E model. On the other hand, it analyses the elements of the 5E model, teachers’ roles, students’ roles, and the application of this model in the learning and teaching Maths at high schools currently.
