This explorative study investigates the impact of knowledge and especially the mediating role of entrepreneurial ability on the Mekong Delta people's entrepreneurial intention in Viet Nam. With the sample size of 664 people were surveyed in 05 cities in Can Tho, Soc Trang, Kien Giang, An Giang, and Ca Mau in the period of 2018-2019 and used Structural Equation Model (SEM), research results found intention to start a business of people in the Mekong Delta is positively influenced by indirect entrepreneurship knowledge through the impact of entrepreneurial competency. In particular, entrepreneurial ability has a more significant influence than entrepreneurial knowledge. This study's implication is useful for planning government policies to encourage and promote local people's entrepreneurial spirit.
