The research was conducted in the laboratory of Plant Protection Department, Can Tho University that were to screen actinomycetes able to control Bacterial soft rot disease on Taro (Colocasia esculenta) caused by Erwinia sp.. There were 20 per 123 isolates in total that were ability against Erwinia sp. in laboratory condition. Determination antagonistic ability of 20 actinomyces isolates in controlling Erwinia sp. with 5 replications, the results found that 4 isolates CM-AG22, LV-ĐT24, LV-ĐT15 and DH-TV4 have high antagonistic ability with radius of inhibition zones reaches 48.32 mm; 6.40 mm; 5.82 mm and 4.37 mm respectively, at 7 days after inoculation. On the other hand, protease activity assay was tested on Casein medium with 5 replications. The results found that all testing isolates could produce protease and the CM-AG22 isolate has expressed the highest proteinolytic activity with the protein lyses halo radius of 15.08 mm at 9 days after testing. Beside, the lipase activity assay was also checked on Tween 80 agar medium with 5 replications. The results indicated that 4 testing isolates could produce lipase and 2 isolates CM-AG22 và LV-ĐT15 have expressed the lipidolytic activity, with the lipid lyses halo radius of 14.05 mm and 13.75 mm respectively, at 9 days after testing.
