A study was conducted to determine the effects of methabolizable energy (ME) levels in diets on the growth performance, quality of carcass and economic return of growing local Muscovy ducks from 5 to 12 weeks of age in the Mekong delta. Birds in each treatment were selected in the same breed, sex, initial weigth and husbandry conditions. The experiment was a completely randomized design with 5 treatments and 3 replycates. For the 5-8 weeks old ducts. The treatment were ME levels of 11.72; 12.13; 12.55; 12.97; 13.39 MJ/kg dry matter (DM), respectively . For the 9-12 week old ducks, the treatment were ME levels 12.13; 12.55; 12.97; 13.39; 13.81 MJ/kg DM, respectively. The results showed that in term of weigth gain, final live weigth, feed conversion ratio, carcass quality and better profits the dietary, ME levels of 12.97 and 13.81 MJ/kg DM were optimal levels for local Muscovy ducks from 5 to 8 weeks of age and from 9 to 12 week of age, respectively.
