Biosorption of heavy metal from wastewater provides cheap and effective process to remove toxic metal ions from wastewater body. Lead (Pb) can accumulate into the living organisms and inflict neurotoxical effect. Removal of Pb at low concentration (20 mg Pb/L) by activated sludge at various adsorption time was studied in comparison to commercial activated carbon. Temperature was varied from 30-50°C. Activated sludge showed competitive performance to activated carbon due to its larger pore size and higher amount of active functional groups (fatty acids and amino acids)
