Joints and backfill grouting have enormous effects on behavior of segmental tunnels. In particular, large displacements of tunnel segments may be occurred due to large deformations of the surrounding ground and overcutting length when a tunnel is constructed in soft ground. Therefore, this paper introduces a numerical model for the design of segmental tunnels. The model enables to take into consideration surrounding ground movements, effects of joints and backfill grouting. To discuss the model, simulations of a site data have been carried out and compared with the measured data. Consequently, the model can simulate and present the behavior of the segmental tunnel
