The effects of temperature on growth performance of giant gourami (Osphronemus goramy) fingerling size with mean weight of 10.4±0.04 g was conducted. The study included two experiments. The first experiment was conducted to investigate the temperature tolerance of fish. The results of this experiment showed that the upper tolerance limit of fish was 40.0±0.1oC and the lower tolerance limit was 15.3±0.2oC. The second experiment investigated the effects of different temperature on growth and survival rate of fish. The experimental included five triplicated treatments including 22, 25, 28, 31 and 34oC. Stocking density was 50 ind./300-L water tank. The environmental factors (e.g. temperature, pH, DO, TAN, N-NO2- and NH3) and growth parameters (e.g. specific growth rate and daily weight gain), survival rate and feed conversion were observed. After 90 days, the results of this experiment showed that the environmental factors were relatively stable and varied within acceptable ranges for tropical fish species. Survival rates varied from 98.7% to 100%. Feed conversion ratio (FCR) was significant increased in the lowest temperature treatment (1.53) if compared to other treatments. The growth rate of fish was highest at 31°C (61.6±0.41 g) and lowest was at 22°C (11.5±1.00 g). It is indicated that temperature affected the fish growth; fish growth was low at low temperatures, while it was high at increased temperature. However, too high temperatures might cause stress to fish as well as inhibit their growth
