A study was carried out from Aprll, 2072 to March, 20L4 in order to determine some biological characteristics of Golden tank goby fGlossogobius aureus Akihito & Meguro, 1975) distributed in the coastal areas of Ben Tre province, the Mekong Delta. Fish samples were monthly collected for determination of food and feeding habit, growth and reproductive biolory. The results showed that the Relative Length Gut index (RLG) of G. aureus was less than 1. G. aureus fed mainly on small fish (46.300/o) and crustaceans (40.460/o). The result indicated that G. aureus is the carnivorous species. The length-weight relationship of G' aureus was W= 0.012 L2.85 (R2 = 0.958, n = 447). The results also indicated that G. aureus could reach 300 mm in the symptotic length (La), 0'77 /yr' in growth coefficient (lQ, -0.02/yr. in age atzero length (t0),2'84 in growth performance index (season of G. aureus was determined from September to December with the spawning peak in November and December. The absolute fecundity was 69,006 ! 25.616 eggs/female. Length at first maturity (Lm) for males and females was I42 mm and L22 mm, respectively.
