In this paper, the role of ion metals on catalytic system of Bentonite- metals supported applied to hydrogen production from peat based on catalytic pyrolysis have been investigated. Research results showed that, the selectivity of hydrogen production by catalytic pyrolysis method is increased when using Bentonite metal supported catalyst. The metals supported are Iron, Nickel and Copper. On the same condition tests, the highest hydrogen selectivity is archived (19.7% in volume) in the case of Bentonite-Ni supported while it is only of 9.7% in volume for the case of Bentonite non–metal supported. The important result of this study is the synergy of ion metal and bentonite when using this catalyst for hydrogen production by pyrolysis reaction of peat.
