Experiments have been conducted within 2 years (2014-2015), experiment were designed in (i) 6 earthen ponds with 0.3 ha each and stocking density of 100 PL/m2 (PL12) in Thanh Phu District, Bentre province and (ii) 6 lining pond in green house with 500 m2 each and stocking density of 150 PL/m2. Experiments aimed to improve environment and production efficiency between biofloc and traditional systems. Results in (i) indicated that when applied biofloc technology (BFT) the total suspended solid (TSS), floc volume index (FVI), total bacteria and phytoplankton in the BFT treatments were higher , i.e. 30.7% (3.5 fold), 21% (5 fold), respectively compared to traditional treatment (control) (p< 0.05).
