Liên kết:

In recent years, Vietnam has become an attractive destination for many large international companies working in the field of engineering and technology. Engineers graduating from Vietnamese universities are mainly workforces in these companies.     These graduates are hard working engineers and have good basic engineering knowledge. However, there is a large number of
engineers, who have graduated from Can Tho University (CTU), lack of soft skills to meet the requirements of those companies
because the previous curriculum of CTU actually did not have any course that equipped students having enough these skills. In
order to provide the students with a preparation for starting their profession at university as well as industrial environment, a new course - Introduction to Engineering - has to be implemented in urgent as it has being offered by most prestigious universities with many positive effects and attracted students attending. Therefore, that course was proposed as a part of the CTU HEEAP 2013 University Cohort final project named “Improving the student ability at Can Tho University to become a global engineer”.  The course was submitted to Department of Academic Affairs at CTU with approving for redesigning curriculum in 2014 and applying in the early of 2015. This course will be introduced to around 1,300 multiple disciplines students per year from 13 undergraduateprograms in College of Engineering Technology, CTU with important skills such as technical problem solving, project
management, engineering design and teamwork. The purpose of this paper is to present and discuss the process of implementing the new course in which how to adapt college situations such as class rooms, large classes, multiple disciplines and facilities to ensure that the students get the best benefit.
