To assess the current status of technical application and economic efficiency of Artemia farming in Soc Trang and Bac Lieu provinces. The survey was done through directly interviewing respondents 60 farmers. Collected information comprised (i) technical aspects; (ii) financial aspects; (iii) advantages and disadvantages of Artemia farming systems. The result displayed that average Artemia culture area is 1.5 ha.  Artemia monoculture system was commonly applied (89.51%) and this system was operated with 1 or 2 cycles per season. Beside Artemia-salt integrated system was also operated and generated higher profit than Artemia monoculture system. Chicken manure, rice bran was commonly used as direct or indirect food into the Artemia ponds; recently, new supplementary feed is commonly used for Artemia culture is commercial marine shrimp feed. Inorganic fertilizer (i.e. Urea, NPK, DAP and phosphate fertilizers) were used with the rate of 20-250 kg/ha/crop.
Stocking density was ranged from 3-6 cans/ha. The Artemia cyst yields were from 18.45-45.0 kg/crop. Total cost and profit were 21.13 million VND/ha/crop and 24.30 13 million VND/ha/crop, respectively.. Farmers have to face with many difficulties such as water shortage, raw cyst selling price  is instability, lack of capital investment and limited knowledge on culture had considerably negative influence on the farmers? productivity and incomes. Solutions for these problems can be considered as: capital support, providing more technical support, upgrading irrigation system, supporting more preferential loans to farmers, providing more training and transferring technical enhancements to farmers, to promote sustainable Artemia farming.
