In recent years, numerous studies to remove H2S in biogas shows that the adsorption method is one of the most effective methods, as well as the ability to deploy in practical applications. Based on the results of research done at the laboratory scale, in this study, the pilot system based on the adsorption principle to remove H2S with continuous operation was fabricated and installed at Thai My - Cu Chi, Ho Chi Minh City, with the scale 300 l/h. The adsorption materials were selected, pelletized and tested based on red mud. The research results showed that red mud pellets have great ability to remove H2S in biogas; the removal efficiency achieved 72% in comparison with research results in the laboratory. H2S in biogas was thoroughly removed with appropriate operating conditions. The research results demonstrated the applicability of technology to remove H2S in biogas on industrial scale with the adsorbent based red mud material.
